James Melillo, DDS

Born and raised in the same neighborhood he proudly serves today, Dr. Melillo has spent more than 2 decades providing exceptional, patient-centered dental care to families throughout the community he has always called home. With advanced training in cosmetic dentistry, root canal therapy, clear aligner treatment and implant dentistry, he is committed to helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles using the latest techniques and technology.

Dr. Melillo graduated from the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine, where he distinguished himself as one of the top clinicians in his class. He received awards for excellence in Oral Surgery, General Dentistry, Prosthodontics, and Radiology and went on to complete an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Stony Brook. Dedicated to lifelong learning, he is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and has completed advanced fellowship training in implant dentistry.

In addition to private practice, Dr. Melillo spent more than 16 years as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he taught clinical dentistry in the General Practice Residency Program and helped train future dentists. He is also a former President of the Yonkers Dental Society.

Committed to service both at home and abroad, Dr. Melillo has participated in humanitarian dental missions in North Dakota, South Dakota, and El Salvador, providing care to underserved communities. Since 2003, he has proudly served in the United States Army Reserve and currently holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He has deployed multiple times in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, commanded the 7238th Medical Support Unit, and is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. Throughout his military career, he has practiced dentistry across North and Central America while caring for service members and their families.

Above all, Dr. Melillo believes in treating every patient like family and building relationships founded on trust, compassion, and excellence. 

Outside the office, he enjoys fishing and tackling home remodeling projects. He is married to his wife, Dennise, and has two children, Ryan and Aria.
